Two-panel Panorama, now in Louth Town Hall, was created 1844-47 as seen by Brown from the top of St James’s scaffolded church spire. Is a major work of provincial art and a national treasure. Brown was a housepainter, newspaper reporter, dissenting Methodist and staunch teetotaller. 236 mainly colour illustrations plus pullout panels with transparent identification overlays.
